Photos are captured at the PSK, not uploaded
For applications submitted at a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK), your photograph and biometrics are captured when you visit — you do not upload a photograph online. Only applicants below the age of 4 years need to carry a photograph; applicants aged 4 and above have it captured at the PSK/POPSK itself.

How to Print Your Indian Passport & OCI Photo for $0.35 at CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart
In-store passport photo desks charge up to $17.99 for two cut prints. Here is how you can use your IdPhoto Studio download to print for pennies:
- Unlock and download your print-ready 4×6 inch sheet containing multiple copies.
- Save the image to your phone or USB thumb drive.
- Visit any CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Boots, or local photo kiosk and select "4×6 Photo Print" (approx. $0.35–$0.50).
- Do not select the $16.99–$17.99 passport photo menu item — the 4×6 print paper is identical.
- Once printed, use scissors or a craft knife to trim along the clean outline guides.

What our checker verifies
Every photo is checked against these parameters before you pay:
- • Resolution of at least 0×0px
- • Exact aspect ratio of 35:45 (±2%)
- • Head height between 0% and 0% of the photo
- • Eye line between 35% and 60% from the top
- • Full head and hair inside the frame boundary
- • The top of your head inside the frame — measured from your photo
- • Plain, shadowless background with correct color tone
These are the rules we can measure. Whether the authority accepts the photo is their decision — and if they reject a photo you bought from us, we refund it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the photo size for an Indian passport?
45mm length × 35mm width colour photograph on white background. The commonly seen 2×2 inch (51×51 mm) requirement is not an Indian rule.
Do I need to carry a photograph to my PSK appointment?
Applicants below 4 years of age need to carry one passport-size colour photograph. Applicants aged 4 years and above have their photograph captured at the PSK/POPSK itself — no photograph to carry.
Can I wear glasses in an Indian passport photo?
Yes, if your eyes are not covered by the glasses and there is no glare on the lenses. Coloured or dark glasses that hide the eyes are not accepted.
Are religious head coverings allowed?
Yes. Head coverings worn for religious reasons are allowed, but your facial features — from bottom of chin to top of forehead — and both edges of the face must be clearly visible.
